The New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE)ENIT
Short-term program for University students and Professionals up to age 30

Contact with different cultures is one of the most powerful ways to promote international understanding and the New Generation Service Exchange is the most recent of Rotary’s proNGSE WebBannergrams. It is intended for young people aged 19-30 and aimed at supporting them in their educational development. NGSE offers university students, young professionals and young graduates the opportunity to live an experience that will allow them to acquire and increase their cultural and vocational skills and to cultivate their humanitarian interests, getting in touch with social organizations, the job’s world or the university environment.

The NGSE program in our district lasts from 30 to a maximum of 90 days, depending on the availability of the host club and the Tourism visa.

The experience has no employment or profit-making purposes (therefore without any form of remuneration) but pure learning and offers the possibility to enter, as a “visitor”, into significant business and professional local Italian realities. The activity is part of the modern concept of “Job shadowing”, that’s to say observing the life of an organization – both work and non-working – without being an integral part of it. To be volunteering in a local social project and to explore typical culture will be part of the program, as to attend nearest Rotaract club.

Rotary District 2120 offers the organization of this customizable experience, trying to meet the expectations and the attitudes of each applicant. Visits to companies, courses of university training and social volunteering are suggested based on the candidate’s training. Experiences depend on the availability of a suitable placement and the curriculum of the candidate.

Participants are hosted board and lodging by Rotary and placed in selected local Italian families that will share their lives with exchange participants, involving them in family, community and cultural activities. University students in Training Internships enjoy Rotary hospitality only in special cases, otherwise board and lodging are at their expense.
